As one of the nation's most prestigious law firms, Alston & Bird LLP must continue to stay abreast of the latest technology changes and developments in the practice of law. As such, Alston & Bird requires the most advanced information technologies infrastructure today to provide the essential information services to their clients. The installation of a Category 6E copper and 10 Gig Rated fiber optic transmission infrastructure utilizing the most advanced technologies will ensure that Alston & Bird is able to meet the challenges of the next generation of information service delivery and guarantee its core value of excellence in the practice of law.

Solution:

The new Alston & Bird office in the historic Atlantic Building in Washington, D.C. includes the Lobby level, as well as several floors throughout the structure. Based on collaborative efforts, our team delivered, installed, tested and commissioned a fully functional Category 3 Voice and Category 6E Data Cable System manufactured by PANDUIT and CommScope for the entire office. Our teams assisted in the design of the wire closets on each floor as well as in the LAN server room. Due to the extensive amount of cabling, angled, rather than horizontal patch panels, were deployed. This increased the cabling that could be put into a rack. Within four months, our teams carefully and effectively worked alongside the electrician and general contractor to complete the project within strict parameters.
