Realtime Operations Center

Medica Health Plans, Minnetonka, MN

Design and Installation

Challenge:

Medica Health Plans sought to integrate audio video technology that would improve the efficiency of their Realtime Operations Center (ROC). With over one million members depending on their services, Medica's goal was to increase the critical response time to customer calls, and also showcase the firm's technical expertise.

Solution:

With the integration of state-of-the-art technology at the Medica ROC, a highly-functional audio video system is now in place. The level of efficiency and quality of operations has greatly increased due to the matrixing capabilities of the newly installed NEC plasma monitors, which graphically display call traffic and other critical information. For this project, our teams installed a 61" NEC plasma display, centered in front of a four-seat console. Four 42" plasmas are mounted in 2x2 configurations on each side of the larger plasma display. Each seat at the operator's console is equipped with gooseneck microphones, computer monitors and PCs. An AMX touch panel puts control of the room's features at the operator's fingertips. Additionally, a small seating area of the ROC is equipped with lavaliers, all part of a dual-channel wireless microphone system that complements the ClearOne audio conferencing system.

Equipment Highlights:

61" and 42" plasma monitors; audio conferencing system; gooseneck microphones; wireless microphone system; control system
