Sustainability Statement
AV Systems and Green Buildings
AVI-SPL is proud to be an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). By following LEED standards, corporations can drastically reduce costs, save energy and generate carbon credits. Our partner manufacturers include Polycom, Tandberg and Draper, three vendors who have done comprehensive research in this area. Because we care about environmental sustainability, we consistently collaborate with our manufacturers, consultants and associations to get this message across.
In addition to our work with the USGBC, AVI-SPL offices are piloting formal sustainability plans. The final, company-wide plan will use standards-based Green Building practices to conserve energy and improve the quality of the work environment. Below are some iniciative we have in place at all AVI-SPL offices:
How AVI-SPL integrates sustainability practices into our company's operations:
- Exploring telephone and web conferencing options to reduce travel
- Establishing recycling programs in our offices, and for our customers who need to replace obsolete electronics
- Utilizing post-consumer materials, such as paper towels, printer paper and bathroom tissue
- Reviewing ground transportation routing to conserve gas and reduce emissions
- Turning off lights and reducing furnace and air conditioning to offices not in use
- Utilizing technology to reduce paper and mail volume internally and externally
