1) What did AVI-SPL acquire?

AVI-SPL purchased Iformata Communications. This includes the Video Network Operations Center (VNOC) and VNOC Symphony® platform. The VNOC business includes the main VNOC facility in Dayton Ohio and redundant facilities in Virginia and Norway. Approximately 40 employees will be joining the AVI-SPL team. AVI-SPL will assume responsibility for all associated customers and partner relationships.

2) Why did AVI-SPL purchase Iformata?

AVI-SPL made this acquisition to strengthen and expand its ability to deliver comprehensive managed services to its customers and partners.

3) What is a VNOC?

A VNOC is a Video Network Operations Center. It is a facility where people, equipment and software are used to remotely monitor, manage and support customer video and telepresence equipment. The facility in Dayton Ohio is a world-class facility with access to customer networks through three points of presence (Ohio, New Jersey and the United Kingdom) where the core network equipment is housed. There are backup or redundant VNOC facilities in Virginia and Norway.

4) What is VNOC Symphony®?

VNOC Symphony is a software management tool for VNOC accessibility. It consists of customer facing tools, VNOC facing tools, and back-office systems. The platform is web-based and allows for users to do such tasks as scheduling meetings, setting up immediate conferencing services, and is accessible via such methods as Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Apple iPhone/iPad, and Google's Android.

5) I am currently an Iformata VNOC customer/partner. How does AVI-SPL affect me?

AVI-SPL is committed to continuing a relationship with all Iformata VNOC customers and partners. The services you receive today will remain unchanged and the personnel you've worked with in the past will continue to service your needs.
